Thanksgiving Demo

This month, the Storm Mountain Chapter will join Colleen Sloan at the General Army Navy Store in Salt Lake City for her annual Thanksgiving Demo event. Colleen and her friends will be cooking turkeys in different ways including deep fried and smoked.

We will set up in the parking lot at the General Army Navy Store around 9:00am, so you might want to bring a shade tent if you have one... or buddy up with someone. There is a covered sidewalk where Colleen cooks during her monthly demos, but I'm not sure how much of that space will be available.

There is no set time for any meal.  Colleen said she will be doing demos and providing dishes to the public from 10:00am to 2:00pm.  Anyone and everyone is more than welcome to join us any time.  Feel free to show up early and cook, or show up later an cook... just show up!

After the event:

What a morning. It was cold and windy. The wind really caused issues with the propane burners and cooking tables. Colleen was well prepared with lots of fire blankets to protect the coals and the flames. The food came out of the pots hot, but the wind cooled them off quickly. That didn't really matter because most food was eaten so quickly that there was barely enough time for the food to get cold.
