Dutch Oven Gathering and Annual Spring Meeting

This is our kick off event for the year so lets start out strong, bring a non IDOS member guest and see if we can get them hooked on DUTCH!!!!! 

The event will take place April 2nd 2011 at Willow Pond Park in Murray, Utah. It will start at 9am and we will eat at noon. 

After we are done eating, please stick around for a CHAPTER meeting to elect a new Director, Asst. Director, and Secretary / Treasurer. After elections, we should plan our next few DOG events and any chapter cook-offs such as Last Chance. Please plan to attend and be an active part of Storm Mountain.

This park has fishing, play grounds and soccer fields to play on, should be a fun place to do some Dutch oven cooking.

After the event

It was an interesting day for Utah weather. On Saturday morning, the sun was out and the day appeared to be beautiful. A perfect day for a Dutch Oven event.

As the morning progressed, the clouds rolled in and the wind picked up. The wind picked up a little too strong just before serving time making it difficult to control the "cowboy seasoning" floating around. Propane flames were blowing all over the place. Despite all the wind, everyone had their dishes on the table at noon and everything was excellent.

Shortly after everyone was done eating, we had our annual Chapter Meeting. Congratulations to the new Storm Mountain Chapter officers:

Of course, right after the meeting, the winds died down and the clouds cleared up a little. It was still a great day of "Good Food, Good Friends, and Good Fun". Thanks to everyone that was able to make it.
